Jake

Ya... it occasionally has some playback issues for me as well. It all depends on the window size you set for playback. I tend to keep it at its default settings and it works nearly most of the time.

Thanks Justin! Sorry that I missed last weeks music selections. Crazy busy over at Double Helix.

Lindstrom: That guy is just amazing. Baby Cant Stop totally gives me that MJ 'Off the Wall' Vibe. Its sick! Production quality is so silky...warm...After 10 seconds of hearing this tune Tricia was singing it around the house. Winner!
Jori: Always top noth. I cant help but love anything/everything he does with Jerry Valuri. Such a winning combo those two have!

If I dont talk to you before then.. Have a Great Thanksgiving weekend! Enjoy.. easy on the Turkey! ;)

The preview function is messed up on my machine. The audio comes out choppy and skewed. This also happened once when saving a file... although it seems to be fine now. Great program; much needed update, as the earlier version's port has stopped working with recent versions of OS X.

Ben, Same here! The entire ION album is actually really really good. Also a huge fan of the Evan Marc and Hillage stuff.. one of my favorites is hypnopomp. I have yet to check out the boris brejcha material. I'll see if I can find some.. Anything specific you recommend? Thanks for the heads up!!

Thanks Ben! I really appreciate the comments. I did the sound design redux on the trailer out of love for the original movie. I would kill to have worked on the Legacy film. It was a really good exercise for me and I still plan to provide some video insight on how I did the project in ableton. Time has been really tight with 2 projects ongoing at the studio I work for.

Hey Ben. Ableton's warping is actually really good.. however when you try any sort of 'extreme' stretching you get quite a bit of artifacting no matter the grain size/envelopes/algorithm. I find that with paul stretch its an extremely fast/efficient and quality way to achieve some really really crazy stretches. The entire audio file I stretched for this example was approximately 22 minutes in original length. Stretched to 63 times its original it was well over 23 hours of audio. I dont think it would be practical to attempt this in Ableton. I think the lack of a visual event system in Paul Stretch works to its advantage over Ableton for these specific uses. Its a really cool program.. you should check it out. Just another tool in the sound design/music production arsenal.
